In July we were delighted to launch the “Bookmark her Future” campaign at Celebrating Badminton Day in support of the refurbishment of our much-loved Casson Library, planned during the summer of 2020.
This iconic building, designed over 50 years ago in 1968 by Sir Hugh Casson, is now in need of a sympathetic renovation and we plan to create a pupil-centric interior, as we move to a ‘bring your own device’ learning style. The School plans to invest £200k to regenerate this building into a more befitting space, which will inspire and support modern learning for our girls and will support the girls’ transition to university, whilst retaining a focus on reading for pleasure.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our girls and their parents, members of staff and our Alumnae to select their favourite book to have “named and framed” and displayed in the newly refurbished library, which collectively will form a unique literary display in the new space.
Many of you have already selected your preferred book of choice; ranging from ‘Harry Potter’ to ‘Swallows and Amazons’, ‘The Little White Horse’ and ‘Pippi Longstocking’ and we are hugely grateful for your support.
We are asking our community and the bookworms among us to help to continue to support the ‘Bookmark her Future’ campaign by joining in; in return for a donation of £250, your daughter’s name will be displayed on a recognition plaque below your chosen title with dates of attendance in School (or other befitting details you may wish to include). Will you share your love of literature with future generations of Badminton girls? With your support, we can help girls thrive in the newly refurbished Casson Library – your book choices can be their inspiration!
Once installed, we will hold a donor event in celebration of the new space in acknowledgement and thanks for your support.
If you would like further details, please email Mrs Brown, Development Manger on
sbrown@badmintonschool.co.uk giving your name, daughter’s name, chosen book and author.
Kindly note that where one or more person has chosen the same book, we may contact you to ask for a second choice.
Please ensure that your chosen book is appropriate for children of a school age.
