The School Year Draws To A Close

Art work by a Year 5 pupil

As another academic year draws to a close, we would like to thank you, our alumnae, for being part of this supportive and strong community.

We have been lucky enough to enjoy many events and occasions with our alumnae this year.

We have welcomed back alumnae for School tours, hosted year group reunions, had the privilege of welcoming alumnae speakers for our lecture series and pupil talks, introduced WhoZatFace technology to the community website, sold Jubilee mugs (some of which were sent a very long way!) and, most recently, bid our Upper Sixth students a fond farewell as they embrace the transition of student to Old Badmintonian.

Our annual London Drinks Reunion had record numbers attending and we were able to enjoy a (mostly!) sunny Celebrating Badminton Day.

It has been another hugely successful year - made possibly only by your support -  and we look forward to continuing to strengthen the partnership between the School and Old Badmintonians in the future years.

A Final Note….

Mrs Tear will be leaving us at the end of this term to take up a new post in London. Bex has been a remarkable Head of Badminton School since 2012 and has demonstrated an unwavering devotion and enduring loyalty in her commitment to the School, making it one of the leading girls’ schools in the country. We have been incredibly fortunate to have had such a dedicated Head and we know that she will be a very hard act to follow; I hope you will join me in offering Bex our deepest and very well-deserved thanks.

Our current Senior Deputy Head, Stuart Dalley, will be acting Headteacher for the forthcoming Autumn Term. Recruitment is well underway and the appointment of the new Headteacher will be announced in due course.

As always, please do keep in touch. We have a private Facebook page, Friends and Alumnae of Badminton School, where we share news, articles and photographs for the very popular ‘Throwback Thursday’ – please do ‘like’ this page.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer!
