A monumental result for Thrive@Badminton

We are thrilled to announce our current total.
Target Exceeded!
Target Exceeded!
We are thrilled to announce that we have met (and surpassed!) our target for the Sports Centre build as part of our Thrive@Badminton campaign. The target was exceeded yesterday as supportive parents enabled Badminton raise the totaliser before the Sports Centre Campaign officially closes on 19th October 2018. An enormous thank you to everyone who has enabled us to reach this overwhelming amount.

The £750,000 fundraising campaign was launched at Celebrating Badminton Day in July 2017, with building works commencing in the month that followed.  A multitude of events have been held to help raise money for the facility involving all sectors of our community, from pupils to parents, to staff and Alumnae.

The Badminton School Sports Centre was up and running on 10th September (pun absolutely intended!) with timetabled lessons and clubs enjoying the superb facilities that the new Sports Centre has to offer.  The two Fitness Suites are proving to be extremely popular with the girls, allowing them to increase their strength and flexibility which will help them in their sporting endeavours.

The Sports Centre has also opened its doors to some of our partners in the local sports community, with Netball County Trials taking place and local Football and Netball clubs training in the Main Hall.

We remain truly grateful for all the support that we have had from our Badminton School community for the Thrive@Sport campaign.  The new opportunities that the girls now have will inspire and promote a passion for Sport which will continue long into their future.

Mrs Tear would like to say, “on behalf of all at Badminton School, a huge ‘thank you’ for the overwhelming support that we have received. In just over a year, it is truly remarkable that we have managed to achieve our £750,000 target and we could not have done it without the generosity of our parent supporters and our extended community. Huge thanks must go to our Involved committee which has also worked tirelessly to ensure that we reached our goal. It’s also been touching to witness heartfelt support ranging from children donating their pocket money to significant contributions from our parents. There is a true and very real sense of pride in what collectively we have achieved as a community and we very much look forward to seeing all that our Sports Centre enables and to starting the next chapter of our Thrive@Badminton campaign”.
