PHSE and Modern Foreign Languages Talk

The PHSE and Language Departments joined recently forces to host a talk for Year 10 girls by three old Badmintonians, two of whom are currently studying Languages at university; Eman and Alessia.

Eman is studying French and Economics and Alessia is studying Spanish and French, and they are both about to spend a year abroad as part of their degree. They were accompanied by Rose, who is studying Economics, having studied French, Economics and Maths at A Level, and she spoke about how her languages have helped her land a prestigious internship this summer.

Alessia and Eman shared a presentation charting their individual route choosing to study modern foreign languages at university. They also talked about their lives at university and how now, as they are about to embark on their year abroad,  they have a clear path to future careers. Their talk was engaging and full of relevant information. Year 10 responded with interest, enthusiasm, and many questions which Alessia and Eman and Rose happily answered. It is always so beneficial to the current pupils when alumnae return to share experiences and give advice, and the Year 10 pupils gained so much from this talk. We are immensely grateful to Alessia, Eman and Rose for giving up their time to speak to the girls and look forward to hearing about their future endeavours!
