The sun shone down as excited pupils, parents, staff and special guests attended the official opening ceremony of the new Badminton School Sports Centre.  Mr Bill Ray, Chair of Governors and Mrs Bex Tear, Headmistress, joined our guest of honor, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson in celebrating all the hard work that took place to get the Sports Centre to the fantastic building that it is.

Baroness Grey-Thompson spoke to the audience about her life experiences and her career in sports and beyond, conveying brilliantly the ethos behind her success which is hard work and a lot of support.  An inspiration to all those present.

It was also the perfect opportunity to thank all of those involved in the project and espcially to those who had made a generous contribution to the Thrive@Badminton campaign.

The Sports Centre stands proud at the entrance to the School, and with lessons for the girls and many community sports groups using its facilities, we hope that it will continue to provide an inspiration to all.  As Baroness Grey-Thompson said, "Sport has the power to bring people together and inspire."
