Reuniting in a different way

A very big "Thank you" to all those who joined us online to celebrate the Old Badmintonian community.

Old Badmintonian Virtual Drinks Reception

Thursday 3rd December saw a different event for the Old Badmintonian community.  Unable to meet in person due to the current COVID 19 restrictions, we held a virtual event where the community could catch up with the news from the School, ask questions and share memories, and hear heartfelt tributes to Clifford Gould and Rebecca Robertson who sadly passed away this year.

Although frustrating not to be able to see each other, the audience rapidly filled the Q and A section with wonderful questions, stories and anecdotes which Mrs Tear did her best to answer and share.  The subject matter ranged from the wonky yew trees to blue or fawn jumpers, via peacocks and squirrels!

Former teachers were present at the event and commented on how lovely it was to be able to hear that the memories of schooldays are still so strong.

In the New Year we will explore some of the subjects brought up in the event - look out for pictures of the Rough Patch and old uniforms. If you have any pictures of the peacocks that would be fantastic!

Hopefully this event has stimulated enough interest that we can run some smaller interactive events based around leaving years.

Thank you to all who attended and shared.  It was an evening that definitely went some way to make up for not meeting in London.
